Endrit Ramku is a junior at West High. He has been a member of Biology Club since his freshman year and took the 2025 USA Biology Olympiad exam, receiving the National Merit Award for being in the top 30% of scorers. Endrit is a volunteer at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, working on various units such as the orthopedic surgery ward and medical-surgery ward, logging more than 100 hours there alone. Endrit instructed an AP Biology preparatory course for students planning on taking AP Biology the following year and oversaw 5-10 students while creating appropriate preparatory curricula. Endrit is also a prominent member of the Speech and Debate team, taking on the role of Student Captain of the Speech branch since 2024. He is also the secretary of the Health Occupation Students of America club, and he is a proud state champion in the Pathophysiology event. Endrit looks forward to leading Biology club!

Our club sponsor, Mrs. Andrea Harms, has worked effortlessly to make sure that Biology Club members are offered endless opportunities to expand their biology knowledge. A graduate of the University of Iowa, her biological pedagogy is unmatched. As the teacher of both AP Biology and Biology at West High for 20 years, she has taught hundreds of students and guided 90% of her students to a passing score of 3+ on the 2024 national AP Biology exam. She has been featured on multiple research publications, one of which was presented at the 2024 AI in Biology Symposium at Harvard University. As our sponsor she has provided a venue for club meetings, logistics management, and general guidance to our team as we navigate the world of biology. Her invaluable contributions to our team help us thrive and fulfill our mission. We are forever grateful for her contribution to Biology club and to her community!
